General Rules of Exercise


  • AEROBIC FITNESS IS THE FOUNDATION; this can be achieved by walking briskly for >20 minutes a day.  No sauntering, walk with purpose.
  • SWEAT EVERYDAY; sweat removes toxins from your body.  This system should be exercised! 
  • BE ACTIVE; a workout can be helping someone move, walking to the store and back while carrying your groceries, dancing, vigorous sex. If consistency helps you to stay on track, do it, but don’t be afraid to cross train.
  • RUN SOME; if you don’t like miles don’t do them, but EVERYONE should stretch their legs out, even if it is for 30 feet. (You may need to work up to this).
  • IF YOU DON'T USE IT, YOU WILL LOSE IT.
  • RIDE A BIKE; errands, commuting to work. Try riding your bike to work one day for exercise just to see how possible it might be. 
  • PLAY SPORTS; play with your family, PLAY.
  • GET OUTDOORS; going to a gym is like going to work, same lights, same canned air......
  • DO YOGA, TAI CHI, CHI GONG, MEDITATE;  all are important adjuncts to exercise.
  • BREATHE DEEPLY, CONSCIOUSLY, REGULARLY, BREATHE.
